In the last two years, the communities of the Alto del Carmen valley in Atacama region, have suffered floods from rivers and alluvions that have left people lost, isolated localities and cut roads.
“In these contexts, the airway emerges as the most efficient way to help people and address the first hours of the crisis”, explains Roberto Madrid, Supply Manager of the Barrick mining company in Chile.
The company, which operates the Pascua Lama project in the area, has carried out with our Company, a series of aerial missions to rescue people at risk, search for lost people, deliver water and basic necessities and support the telecommunications infrastructure repair before these disasters.
In addition, it has used our services to make the shift changes of the personnel mine in the middle of the mountain, when the conditions of the routes have made it impossible to do it by land, and the airstrip is out of service.
“Ecocopter and its human teams, have high safety standards and share with us the vision of excellence in acting and in every decision that is made. In Barrick, we are guided by the conviction of each person back home healthy and safe every day, and when we work with the Ecocopter pilots, we feel sure with the result”, he said.
